Efraim Zuroff came to my hometown, Englewood, NJ, to talk about Holocaust war criminals. He is director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Israeli branch in Jerusalem, and his activities bringing war criminals to justice have been the subject of five television documentaries. He was the historical advisor for the Academy Award-winning documentary, “Genocide,” which did a great deal to bring the Holocaust into the public eye.

“There is a greater consciousness of the Holocaust in Western society than ever before, and Holocaust education can help in the fight against xenophobia and racism.”

“Lithuania has been playing a major role in efforts in Eastern Europe to rewrite the narrative of the Holocaust to hide the crimes of the local populations and downplay the evil of Nazism and equate it with Communism.”
